More than a band, more than songs craftily arranged by musicians, more than a group of dudes running after their dreams. Ascend The Hill exists for a purpose far greater than their own selfish endeavors…we exist to make much of the name of Jesus. Without Him in our midst we’re just another social gathering, and we’re wasting our time.
As a result of the life, death, resurrection and in turn, relationship that Christ has offered each and every one of us, our lives have been changed for the better, and wrecked for any selfish gains that this world has to offer. Nothing satisfies the deepest longings of hearts but Jesus.
A.W. Tozer said, “thirsty hearts are those whose longings have been wakened by the touch of God within them.” Our desire is that every person who comes in contact with our music will have the opportunity to be “wakened by the touch of God,” and will never be the same for it.
What is purpose? What is unconditional love? How can we keep hope alive? Delve with us a little deeper, Ascend The Hill of the Lord with us and we’ll discover together.

Artist: The Ember Days Song: Run To You CD: The Ember Days EP Genre: alternative/rock Label:Come&Live! Records Homepage
ADDING TO ALTERNATIVE & ROCK FORMATS NOW!!
What is your response to love? How does hope take shape? How are victories celebrated and pain catalysed?
For The Ember Days the answer is worship. From the early days spent crafting the voice of their unique sound, the band’s evolution has always been compelled by their mission to connect listeners to their maker.
For The Ember Days, the mission is simple; “We are five people that passionately love God, we love people, we want to speak the truth and see the body of Christ united. We play songs that reflect that and we try to bring the presence of God to anyone who listens” – a sentiment that has echoed with many, garnering them a large following of like-minded worshipers and seeing the band play at festivals such as NZ’s Parachute Festival, Cornerstone Festival (U.S) and Spirit West Coast ‘08 (U.S). In New Zealand, the band has toured extensively with fellow patriots Mumsdollar, Arms Reach and All Left Out. Last year the band toured the U.S extensively with Tooth & Nail’s Showbread and The Glorious Unseen. On the back of their rigorous touring “Your Eyes Light Up” earned a New Zealand Music Award nomination for best Christian album.
The proverb says; make your plans, and God will direct your steps. For a band who’s vision has been so firmly fixed, the direction has been well steered. As a result of their first U.S tour, the Ember Days have joined forces with Come&Live (www.comeandlive.com), a pioneering collective of musicians who have chosen to treat their art like their mission, giving their music away and donating profits to the needy. For a band like the Ember Days, the decision to go with the U.S-based ‘anti-label’ was a simple move to keep God, people and ultimately faith at the core of their vocation.
With a new line-up, the Ember Days self-titled E.P was released this year; a stunning collective channelling the emotive dynamics of Sigur Ros with the heartfelt drive of Thrice – an atmosphere in which worship can explore it’s true meaning; the connection with God, the heart’s ache, the soaring of hope. All this delivered by 5 worshippers, ardently disappearing in the music in order to let the maker speak what He will.
The Ember Days are currently living in Nashville and working on their next full length to be released sometime in 2010.

Artist: Sonia V (Featuring Michael Sweet of Stryper) Song: Meet Me In The Middle CD: Oh Sweet Tragedy ... Anthems From the Ashes Genre: rock Label:Atomic Planet records Homepage
ADDING NOW TO ROCK! Sonia V's new CD release "Oh Sweet Tragedy - anthems from the ashes" is a riveting & pure offering of hard edged rock anthems, revealing honest confessions of an artist clinging to faith despite the desperate & trying turns life has taken. Co-produced with the phenomenal Kenny Lewis (Stryper, Michael Sweet) and rocked out with the talents of Michael Sweet (guitars/vocal duet) & Tracy Ferrie (bass) of Stryper, Derek Kerswill (drums) of Unearth, and McKendree Augustus (keys) of SonicFlood, these original tunes penned by Sonia V. come from a place of brokenness and raising one's anthem amidst the ashes & despite the darkness and aftermath of broken dreams. Into a place of hope and finding "Beauty for Ashes", "Oh Sweet Tragedy" is a solid rock offering from a credible artist who has earned her place among the standout female rock artists in the industry today.
Sonia V's previous CD "a thing or 2" includes credits of "Contemporary Christian Album of the Year" by the Independent Music Awards, followed by numerous chart topping hits, songwriting awards from Gospel Music Association, American Christian Music Awards, VH1, Billboard & International Songwriting Contests, vocalist awards & nominations as well as countless interviews, features and international radio airplay & commercial licensing opportunities. Also includes a co-write with Switchfoot’s Jerome Fontamillas. The successful release of “a thing or 2” earned Sonia V the respect from some of the most prominent musicians and individuals in the music industry which allowed her to claim her place as an unmistakable independent female rock artist.
Despite the attention and breakthrough into the music industry as a prominent independent artist, it would also be one of the most challenging times Sonia faced both as a professional artist and spiritually. It ended with a long sabbatical from the music business for a few years. With a story to tell about the journey, Sonia V. emerges with the strongest and most transparent works of art of her career to date with the new release "Oh Sweet Tragedy....anthems from the ashes".
Sonia V. has captured listeners around the world with her indie rock vibe by taking modern rock into a more cutting edge territory. Sonia's music has a sound of its own as a standout female rock voice that is unique among other artists in the industry. With a musical style that captivates modern pop culture, Sonia is often described as "a Rock Chick with attitude". Although her roots are in gospel music, Sonia's unique sound isn't the typical package you'd expect, allowing her to reach a broader audience with her music.
Sonia states "Despite all the raised eyebrows I've seen throughout my life, I have learned to just be me, and that I'm alright that way. I grew up singing in church and traveling the country singing gospel music with my family every week of my life." Sonia says. "Although I wrote & sang a lot of worship and church music, I soon realized the stuff coming out of me wasn't "churchy" sounding and was relating to people who didn't really go to church. I began to feel a call and vision to write & perform music that would touch people who don't go to church and don't believe in Christianity for that matter, but still needed someone to reach them. I wanted my music to be accessible to anyone, yet retain its message and help people find a pathway to God, bring hope, peace & healing in their lives.
I think God has given me a unique packaging that most people don't expect from a Christian. I have never been mistaken for "normal" and once you catch a glimpse of who I am, you'll never forget me. It's the wild hair, crazy quirks, and rock-lovin' weirdo that I am. I think everyone just needs to know they're alright for who they are no matter what anybody else thinks."
Out of this vision and passion, Sonia released the much acclaimed "a thing or 2" which gained national recognition by the music industry and garnered the award for "Contemporary Christian Album of the Year" in the 2006 Independent Music Awards sponsored by Music Resource Group making Sonia V. one of the hottest independent artists this year and "a thing or 2" one of the best independent album releases in the country. The Music Resource Group distributed "a thing or 2" to all Borders stores and released the radio single "Tell Me" to radio nationwide in 2006 by the leading radio promotion company, The Planetary Group. A promotion and publicity campaign are underway to promote Sonia's album throughout 2006 to the music industry. "a thing or 2" has crossover appeal and has hit the charts in both the Christian and secular arena taking Sonia to number one on several stations, acquired rave reviews, countless media interviews, and spotlights.
Also awarded the honor of being named "Female Breakout Artist of 2005" by the American Christian Music Awards and featured on the cover of the American Christian Music Journal, Sonia received international attention with her release, "a thing or 2", Sonia was also nominated for Female Rock/Alternative Vocalist of the Year in January 2005 by CMCentral.com along with well known artists Plumb, Charity Von and Sarah Kelly.
After touring the globe with the success of the "a thing or 2" CD release, Sonia is coming back full force with her 2009 release entitled "Oh Sweet Tragedy - anthems from the ashes" which features Michael Sweet (Stryper/Boston) on guitars and a killer duet, Tracy Ferrie on bass (Stryper, Plumb, SonicFlood, Guardian), Derek Kerswill on drums (Unearth) and McKendree Augustas (SonicFlood) on keys and effects that is even harder edged rock with songs that are destined for success. Co-produced with phenomenal producer Kenny Lewis (Stryper, Michael Sweet and more).

BIO
From the echoing hallways of an average, everyday high school in small-town Beloit, Wisconsin…a band was born. As soon as Phil Carper, Pat Anderson, Andy Lutz and Peter Murray began making music together, they knew that the mundane everyday of conventional work or school was not their path. Dubbing themselves Alakrity, a variation on a traditional English word meaning “cheerful readiness,” the band is quickly establishing a name for itself. In true carpe diem style, the pop punk foursome has set sail to create life-changing moments. To make something that matters.
Upon graduating from high school, the band signed to Wisconsin-based J*Noiz Media. Wasting no time, the band’s energetic and entertaining live performances were backed by the label’s release of the “You Are Here” EP.
Alakrity’s refreshing brand of honest, high-energy pop punk is equal parts entertainment and expression. Although chock full of sweat, jokes and energy, the band’s music is methodically executed while always careful to not overshadow their message. The members’ Christian worldview permeates their lyrics at every turn. “Everyone has been through similar situations to the ones we address in our songs, some to a much worse extent than others,” states Carper without hesitation, “but it all comes down to the fact that Christ can mend any broken heart and fix any broken situation.”
Continuing to hone their skills while simultaneously expanding their reach, the band has been hard at work playing for a wide variety of audiences. Having performed alongside such artists as MxPx, Kids in the Way, Audio Adrenaline, Run Kid Run, Seventh Day Slumber and Everyday Sunday, Alakrity is poised to quickly find center stage among today’s hottest Christian bands.
Alakrity selected renowned producer Dan Needham to helm their debut full-length release. Featuring a cover of Petra’s timeless classic “Beyond Belief” with a guest appearance from Petra vocalist John Schlitt, “Whatever Happened To Good TV?” is available now.

LYRICS "Lost Souls" Don't ride on hate Quick to aggravate Dance on hearts Souls torn apart Tame your tongue Mouths loaded gun It's not to late When hate is the bait
Everyday I look around me Can't believe what I see So many who live just to be Existing in this hollow world When will we change our ways? Whats the solution? I see so much wrong today Our disobedience set in motion
Just for one day I see a world where no one suffers Just for one day I see a world where everyone loves
What's wrong with the world today? Threatened now by students with guns In school kids are told not to pray Why can't we see what we have done? It's time to change our ways Time for a revolution And stop this blood shed on this earth It's time for a world wide rebirth
Just for one day I see a world where no one suffers Just for one day I see a world where everyone loves
Just for one day All this pain will fade away Just for one day All that we once feared will fade away

The name RelientK has always been synonymous with some of the most contagious power pop/punk rock, tongue in cheek songwriting and feel good fun anyone could ever ask for. ADDING NOW TO JAZZ & AC FORMATS!
I have been playing the guitar since as early as I can remember. My father taught me how to play and I haven't put the guitar down since. When my father passed away there were many other people that came into my life that were instrumental in shaping my musical style. As I grew older, I was privileged to play with some of the most talented musicians in Rochester, New York, and these experiences began to largely shape my songs.
Song writing became a passion of mine as a young teenager. When I was 19, I distinctly remember sitting at a Phil Wickham (National Christian recording artist) concert and thinking, "Wow, I would love to do what he is doing up on stage." From that point on it was almost as if God began giving me songs to write. I have heard comparisons of my music to those of artists such as: Shawn Mcdonald, Matt Kearney, Jack Johnson, and Jason Mraz, to name a few.
Like most artists, it is nearly impossible to continue in your craft without the support and encouragement from friends and listeners. I guess I got my start just playing in my friends house for anyone that was over and wanted to hear. As I began to meet more and more people, the overwhelming positive feedback is what kept pushing me to keep writing and performing. I have been blessed to have crossed paths with people that have generously offered their services (website, myspace, booking shows, etc.).
I want to be known as someone that writes about stuff that matters. Nothing makes me happier than when someone comes up to me to say, "Your music really inspires me to..." As long as God continues to inspire me to write, I am going to try to inspire others.

The arts lured Barry Blaze early in life. Raised around musically gifted parents and family the need to compose was part of his genetic make up.
But as for pursuing a musical career, it was an encounter with God as a young adult that propelled him toward being a professional musician. His conviction to worship God through the arts began to shape his experiences and led to a series of songs and recordings that launched his music in the early '90s.
Blaze began writing and recording on his own which evolved into the euro-pop style music that became Code Of Ethics. This was a fresh new alternative to Christian Music of the time. After a decade of success in the Christian music industry, he transitioned from performing for the masses to a focus on playing for an audience of One.
In 2001 Blaze put his touring and writing on hold to join a staff of a growing church in North Florida. Learning to lead worship revealed something Blaze knew all along—God had made him to be an artist. More importantly, God had made him to help others understand that art and worship were designed to collaboratively reveal God’s glory. And it was back to the writing room for Blaze.
Three years ago after a life-threatening motorcycle accident on his favorite Florida drive, Blaze found himself with head trauma that included permanent hearing and vision loss. The physical tragedy led to a series of surgeries to partially restore his sight and hearing. Inner healing came as he let fear and vulnerability develop his faith into a first hand experience of trusting God with the good and horribly bad.
In the album Patiently Waiting, Blaze lyrically invites listeners to join him in an exploration of reverence and thanks to a sovereign God who is faithful beyond all circumstance. The album’s contemporary melodies deliver an enjoyable blend of pop and praise sharing hope during a time of great difficulty.
The inspiration behind the album’s title track was written during his recovery when Blaze found himself with a medicine-induced sleepless night. The lyrics of the song convey his soul’s deepest wounds during suffering, while the music moves through the sound of contentment regardless of the circumstances.
In addition to writing and producing his own music, Blaze is currently leading worship at a number of North Florida churches and is providing consultation and creative direction to church musicians and worship teams. He has also released a new Code of Ethics CD that is now available!

THE GOD STORY
The mile long bridge that stretches across A1A between Duval County and Amelia Island is a simple, beautiful drive. The picturesque scene of the sun rays on the ocean makes this open stretch of road my absolute favorite ride.
But on the afternoon of May 1, 2004 this site changed forever in my mind. What had started as a beautiful, sunny Saturday, eased into an afternoon shower that suddenly turned to an angry storm. Within moments, rain slapped my face and pummeled my soaking back. As a downpour reduced the traction from my motorcycle, airstreams threatened to hurl me over the two-foot guardrail protecting from a nearly 60 food drop.
Someone had screamed “STOP!” a distance before I committed to this course. Now I knew why.
Everything went black.
Consequently life seemed dark and void of light, as I stood deaf and blind in the months to come. I was alive but deeply shaken, every fiber within afraid. That day I lost control of my bike, but really, I lost control of many things in my life.
The crash caused a lot of permanent, physical damage. Severe head trauma left me with broken ear bones as well as holes in my eardrums and eyes. I also experienced a disorienting imbalance called vertigo for over a year. My severely wounded soul sought comfort from God and I reached the edge of what I could physically and emotionally endure.
All the while, my spiritual being experienced a different type of hurt. God had gifted me to be a musician, the only livelihood I’d ever known. As I questioned how I would continue, I considered that the loud voice pleading me to stop on that day was a cautioning of the Holy Spirit. It pained me to think I chose not to listen.
But comfort came in knowing that “He who began a good work in me would carry it on to completion.” * There was certain to be a beautiful outcome from this disaster. I had to trust God was still in control and that the deficit in my understanding would be balanced by His fierce love for me—after all he knew how this would all end.
More importantly, He would be near to me as this experience colored my faith rich with hues of His mercy.
In His mercy, much of my sight was restored after a series of surgeries. In His mercy, my hearing has been partially repaired. In His mercy, I have been able to complete this new Code of Ethics project “Lost In Egypt” with limited senses.
My journey through this trial has been filled with both joy and sorrow. Yet I know God is to be praised in all things because every moment is an opportunity of intimacy with Him.
