As a professional rock band, it doesn’t hurt to be prolific, but it’s far more important to grow and develop -- to learn from past triumphs and failures and to use accumulated experience to craft songs that are passionate, modern and from the heart. In their 15 years together, Knoxville, Tennessee band Disciple have matured into an aggressive metal band with a strong sense of melody and penchant for the unexpected.

Luminate is a band from Tyler, TX that was formed in the fall of 2005 by two students attending Visible School of Music in Memphis, TN. They officially launched their full-time musical career with their self-titled EP and an extensive Midwest tour including festivals, high schools, camps, all-age venues and churches.
Their second CD release, "Bright and Beautiful" (2007) brought a new and fresh outlook on their ministry and drive. In June 2008 the band put out their third independent release "Miracle". It speaks of the urgency of rising up against the mediocrity of today's view of the Christian walk and lifestyle. The record stresses that our time to act is now. It's Our Time to embrace hope, destiny and a revolutionary relationship with our Creator.
Best described as passionate, stirring and worshipful, LUMINATE's musical core is formed around an ambient rock sound. Their songs challenge us to rise above the apathy in today's society, and to pursue our dreams with purpose, while reminding us our lives and what we do has worth.
Singer/lyricist/rhythm guitarist, Sam Hancock, writes poignant and meaningful lyrics with anthemic choruses that usher crowds into a corporate experience with God. Lead guitarist, Cody Clark, complements the melodies with reverb and delay-laden guitar riffs, while keyboardist/background vocalist, Dustin DeLong, adds ambient warm touches. Mix in the rhythmic bass lines of bassist, Dusty Jakubik, and the power of drummer, Aaron Mathew, and a song of vision, faith and thirst for God is sung.

Artist: Stephanie Smith Song: Renew Me CD: Not Afraid Genre: rock Label:Gotee Records Homepage
When Stephanie Smith got her first glimpse of the father she’d desperately missed all of her 14 years, her heart was in her throat. She waited breathlessly as he greeted her mother and her brother, then finally turned to Stephanie. But his words were anything but the healing she’d dreamed of for so long. He said, “And this must be Priscilla?”
In the aftermath of that meeting, Stephanie processed a great many life lessons. Following a spiritual reality check she experienced while singing with a rock band she joined during college, a fateful door was opened for Stephanie to travel overseas. “I ended up going to Guatemala on a mission trip. If anyone is struggling with pride or self-righteousness,” she laughs, “you need to go haul cinder blocks up a mountain. The hard work will cure you!”
Her compelling redemption story drives the hope-drenched lyrics and gutsy honesty of Not Afraid, a debut overflowing with solid pop rock anthems, all written or co-written by Stephanie. Her raw vocals shine on the fiercely-delivered “Superstar” while the pop-rock track “Beauty” directs toward peace within. One listen to the thick guitars of the powerhouse title track “Not Afraid” makes it obvious that Stephanie is a rock chick at heart. The catchy breakup song reminds what relationships are really about. And on the stunningly vulnerable piano ballad “First Words,” she opens up about that first encounter with her father. Smith and producer Jamie Moore worked together to accomplish the perfect mix of immaculate arrangements and captivating lyrics. Producer Chris Stevens, known for his work with Tobymac, Sanctus Real, and Group 1 Crew, added his hand to the standout "Renew Me."
Beyond the music, Stephanie ministers regularly with Soles4Soles, a Nashville-based non-profit that facilitates the donation of shoes to the hurting worldwide. She also has a long-standing relationship with the Pure Freedom founders—at age 13, she attended their very first sexual purity retreat. “I still wear my pearl around my neck today,” she shares, “and it’s been neat to come around full circle and now partner with them.”

“Every lyric in Turn It Up is an album or song title from another Christian band, with the exception of two lines. All in all, there are 34 bands represented here -- bands whose songs have influenced us and impacted us.
Here’s an example of one line: In the healing rain (Michael W. Smith)/There is beauty for pain (Superchic[k])/But the scars remain (Disciple). I’m proud to be a part of a genre that knows how to rock even as it delivers an eternally life-changing message of hope. I want people to know that we are a Christian band. We love the fact of who we are. This is what we’re a part of. So don’t be ashamed of Christian music. Turn it up!”

Lyrics: I can only imagine
All of the magic that would happen
If we all come together
I could sing of your love forever
Tell me I'm never alone
And that I'm going home
I can hear sounds of melodies
And the remedy
That comes when you
Lift me up
From the flood in the sea of faces
And I promise you we'll make it
‘Cause In the healing rain
There is beauty from pain
But the scars remain
I will find a way
To take my life and
And give it all away
And I'll be pressing on
Feel this phenomenon
Turn it up
Throw your hands in the air
All the people everywhere
Let me hear you say
Woah, oh, oh, woah, oh, oh
Yeah, Yeah
Turn it up
Let the stereos play
All the people everywhere
Let me hear you say
Woah, oh, oh, woah, oh, oh
Yeah, Yeah
I'm learning to breathe again
Maybe we'll meet again
I hear whispers in the dark
Even the snakes have hearts
So we break free
Won't you breathe into me
I'm drawing a black line
Define the great line
Maybe I just feel so alive
It’s a super good feeling
So I’ll keep waiting
Will your momentum change
Take a typical day
That you gotta engage
Don't wait for your heart to cave in
Give the freaks something to believe in
It’s about a burning fire
If you like it turn it up let me hear you shout
If you want it turn it up gotta live it loud
If you like it turn it up let me hear you shout
If you want it turn it up gotta live it loud

Lyrics:
You’re running head first into empty alleys dark and so mysterious
Careful or you’ll lose yourself
I can see you holding on to anything familiar
Maybe that’s what’s pulling you down, pulling you down
Cuz it’s OK to be afraid
Just fix your eyes above
And it will be O, be O, be OK
It’s OK, cuz you are safe
Don’t lose your faith
And it will be O, be O, be OK
You test the waters scared you’ll wake up drowning in the mess you’ve made
Take a second, catch your breath
I can see you struggling to break free from the uncertainty
But you don’t always have to figure things out, figure things out
You’ve got to trust, God hears your cries
Don’t, don’t, don’t you worry
Don’t, don’t, don’t you worry
I know you’re tired, keep holding on
Don’t, don’t, don’t you worry
Don’t, don’t, don’t you worry

GOING FOR ROCK ADDS!
Lyrics:
My eyes have a rosy glaze
(As darkness falls)
I’m dancing on a razor blade
(It’s killing me)
Such a dangerous attraction
I’m flirting with fire
A desire reason just can’t tame
I’m gonna regret this
It’s the shadow inside my mind
And I’m in denial
I’m becoming quite a liar
Does that make me beautiful tonight?
(To someone)
In my sickness can you find me beautiful tonight?
The moonlight plays against my skin
(You found me out)
Midnight sometimes is my only friend
(Don’t leave me now)
The hunger it eats me alive
I’m falling, dissolving
It’s crawling into my veins
I’m gonna regret this
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, beautiful tonight
I don’t want to stay this way forever
Can you make me beautiful tonight?

Paradox
Paradox is a band consisting of 4 family members. Jeff O’Blenis is the father and plays guitar, keyboards and bass as well as lead and background vocals. Nathan is the oldest son and plays the drums as well as singing a bit of background vocals. Curtis is the middle son and plays guitar and bass as well as lead and background vocals.
Mitchell is the youngest and plays bass, guitar and keyboards as well as lead and background vocals. Jeff & Mitch write the music for the band. Their first CD, “Forever”, is a rock opera based on the gospel of John. It tells the story of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ using 14 points from the book of John.
The central theme is time and how Jesus existed before time began and will return at the end of time to take His children home to be with Him forever. John 14:1-3 is the primary text and in it Jesus tells his followers to trust Him, that He will not let them down. It’s a fantastic truth that we can cling to when all hope seems lost. There is acting between and during many of the songs which help to complete the rock opera package.
They have performed it 9 times at their local church using many of the membership to act, sing and take part in the presentation. It has proven to be a very unique and effective way to present the gospel in a new and fresh way, to bring to life the stories many of us have heard from our youth.

Artist: Wales Road Song: Me Without You CD: Rock Dove EP Genre: rock Label:Spun Records Homepage
Tommy Wales is a prolific recording artist from Rochester, NY . He is the founder and front man of the Christian Rock Band WALES ROAD,capably handling vocals, guitar, harmonica and songwriting duties. Steve Rousseau (bass) and Bobby Stahlbrodt (drums) round out the current line up.
Wales Road have been impressing Western New York music fans for years, playing churches, colleges, clubs and festivals with zeal.
Frank DeBlase, Music Editor of CITY Magazine, describes Wales Road tunes as ranging from "...riff-loaded heavy rock & power ballads to pop-esque ditties to acoustic/electric blues..." Michelle Picardo of Free Time Magazine dubs the band "...taking metallic punk to heavenly heights...". Wales Road\'s ballads reflect a kinder-gentler musical side and are penned with emotional and spiritual intimacy.
Wales Road tunes chart extensively on the Independent Christian Rock Radio Charts, including two #1 Hit Singles ('Candleshine' and 'Glimpses'). 'Glimpses' was 1997 Song of The Year for Unsigned Artist on Uncle Samoo's Zoo (WITR 89.7 FM). Wales Road tunes receive radio airplay on The Calvary Satellite Network, over 300 radio stations nationwide.
Tommy Wales appeared in City Magazine\'s featured cover story 'Rock'n'Roll Soul: The Wales Road to Heaven'. Wales Road listed in Free Time Magazine's Top 10 Indie albums three years in row: 'BLuR' in 2004, 'Praying Mantis' in 2005 and 'Snake Hisses and Judas Kisses' in 2006. L.David Wheeler, Sunday Editor of The Daily Messenger pens: "...Wales Road maintains a high standard of musicianship and lyrical development, much like Phil Keaggy ,Jars of Clay,The 77's and REZ..."
Tommy Wales wears his heart on his sleeve in his lyrics, with the belief that if he is honest about his own struggles, he is able to communicate the Mercy of God. With a guitar slung over his shoulder and a song in his heart for his King, Tommy prays his music bless the ears and hearts of those who listen.
Although the lineup has varied down through the years, one thing has remained consistant: Tommy Wales is a man who is passionate about reflecting his Faith in the midst of a fallen world through his Audio Art.

Artist: Willet Song: Wineskin CD: Virus Genre: rock Label:Independent Homepage
GOING FOR IMMEDIATE ADDS TO ROCK RADIO!
WINESKIN
(Words by Jeremy N. Willet / Music by Willet)
If your enemy is hungry, then prepare a feast
And if the city is thirsty, then break the wineskin
Do I even threaten you to move?
Would you change the world, if the world changed you?
Shoot the bullet to the sky
Aim at nothing
Hit it every time
Fight the battle with a gun
Aim at nothing
Hit it every time
Watch her dance across the street
The city lights and beggar\'s dreams
A homeless man is who I have to fight
Spare change in a dirty, old paper cup
Won't change my life, but could it change yours?
WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
The first line of the chorus, “Shoot the bullet into the sky, aim at nothing and hit it every time” describes a life of no purpose, a spirit with no vision. “Fight the battle with a gun,” alludes to the fact that each of us has some sort of motivation. We have a desire to help other people…to extend a hand to someone in need. But sometimes this passion needs to be rekindled. We need to be equipped, ready for battle with our “loaded gun” in order to fight the opposition.
Proverbs 25:21 says,
“If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.”
It’s expected when we step out in faith to serve God that we will be approached with enemy force, but Christ commands us to show love to our enemy regardless of the situation so that in return, we may be the light in the darkness. “If your enemy is thirsty, then prepare a feast, and if the city is thirsty, then break the wineskin.”
In the song, the phrase “give him water to drink” was replaced by the phrase, “break the wineskin” to elaborate on the meaning behind the lyrics. The first verse obviously displays the message of Proverbs 25:21, however, in the Bible, Jesus talks about not putting “old wine” into “new wineskin” because it would ruin the fine preparation of such tradition. I incorporated the word “wineskin” into the idea of Proverbs 25:21 to display the importance of portraying love at all costs to “the dark.”
Wine was and still is important to many people for a meal, celebration, or as a way of showing friendship. If trust is built between you and your brother or sister, then a conversation about Christ could become easily initiated.
The remaining verse talks about how we easily let the world mold and shape us into what it wants us to be, rather than us being bold enough to stand for what we believe in. “Do I even threaten you to move, would you change the world if the world changed you?” Even though the world as a whole may not be ready for a change, there are individual souls crying out in desperation for someone to speak out the truth. They need someone who will openly offer unconditional love in all forms.

EightDaysLater is a Nashville based, four piece rock group. Its audio signal, based on raw edge and energy, draws on many elements to characterize its sound and form. Straight ahead rock, urban symphonic flair, and flashes of punk-ish passion, fuel the gospel of pop and soul to a heady height of adventurous sonic and spiritual pondering.
Drawing nods from such musical influences as U2, Incubus, Black Crows, and My Chemical Romance, EightDaysLater casts itself into the proverbial stewing pot, to form a new flavor that excites and intrigues the listener and concert comer alike.
Their faith challenges their views and forms much of the basis for their material, assessing social and political climates; as well as fodder for their own introspective journey. Their music and lyrics send out a call - a call for the voice to be louder, the soul to reach higher, truth to be sought, and love proclaimed.

Gypsy has put together a collage of several musicans who have helped make the Watchman CD a reality. First off his gigging band AOS or The Apostles Of Sound - Joe and Chris Dile. Then special thanks to the bass players and drummers who recorded the record. Greg Morrow on drums and Mike Brignardello on bass played on 4 tracks. Then Sean O.B. Smith on bass and Joe Schobelhoffer on drums played on seven tracks. They were also Gypsy's live band before AOS was formed.
MATTHEW 24:36-39,44: "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be...Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

It would be easy to describe Deas Vail simply by pointing at vocalist Wes Blaylock's upper register range and falsetto and then to slap on the indie label. Granted, it\'s an unmistakable voice that sounds as if it bides its time floating amid the stars, and so, is a major part of the band's sound. But there’s so much more beyond that soaring voice ....
