Biography – Erik Nielsen With his first solo release, A Sense of Hope, Rochester saxophonist Erik Nielsen has melded musical genres drawn from his love of soul, gospel, blues, R&B, and jazz into a kaleidoscope of smooth rhythms, lush phrases, and thought-provoking melodies. The album was recorded in three different studios, from Spring Hills and Nashville, Tennessee to Rochester, New York. Guest appearances include Kezia recording artist and guitarist, George Collichio; top Nashville session’s bassist, Lanice Morrison; and noted studio trumpeter Paul Gaspar. “With guys like this playing on this project, anyone in their right mind would be excited,” says Erik. “I thank God every night at the opportunity He has afforded me to play alongside such accomplished and highly esteemed musicians as these.”
Erik’s love of music started at the tender early age of three, when he and his five-year old sister recorded the vocals to ”Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep” onto a mono cassette tape recorder. While their rendition never made it beyond the family dinner table, the experience whet Erik’s musical appetite. By the time he was 10, Erik was playing drums in the elementary school band. But when an aunt supplied him with a saxophone that had been sitting around gathering dust, he began to understand that there was more to music than just playing notes. “To be honest, I never enjoyed playing the sax, or music for that matter, until I was a junior in high school, when my friends and myself would go in early, and jam before concert band rehearsal,” says Erik. “I knew I enjoyed playing music, but never made the connection between playing the sax and creating music with my sax.”
It was after hearing David Sanborn’s “Summer” in college jazz ensemble that Erik says, “I realized how powerful and influential the sax could be.” During his years at Nazareth College in Rochester, Erik was involved in various party bands and original bands, cutting his teeth in the local music scene, and gaining experience writing his own material. “One of the significant things I learned from my education at Nazareth and Stanley Gaulke, my saxophone professor, was the importance of phrasing, no matter the genre of music. Without phrasing and emotion, it just becomes notes on paper. Music is about feeling and expression of emotion, and I try to convey that emotion in my playing.” While the sax was Erik’s passion, it was his spiritual awakening that had the greatest impact on his life, and eventually his music. “I reached a point in my life where I started to question my own existence, and what my purpose in life was,” says Erik. “I had more questions than answers, and it seemed the more I tried to figure things out on my own, the more miserable I became.”
Erik came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in the fall of 1998, and since that time has dedicated his talents to serving the ultimate musician and composer, Jesus Christ. Armed with a renewed artistic and spiritual passion, Erik’s musical career has taken off. He’s performed with artists like Paul Boutte, Alvin Parris III, Jimmie Highsmith Jr., Paul Gaspar, and Nathan Salter. He’s participated in nationally-recognized conventions The Joshua Revolution, Arts Reconnect, and Kingdom Bound Ministries. In addition, he’s made guest appearances on several recording projects with such artists as retro 60’s girl group, It’s My Party and the gospel-influenced, praise and ministry group, Absolute Praise.
Erik has also showcased his talents to legendary producers, Roscoe Hamby and Derrick “DOA” Allen of Roc Diamond Records. “I’ve always heard it said, and I now believe, that the key to being a successful musician is to diversify yourself by getting involved in various genres of music, constantly expanding your musical repertoire through experience,” Erik explains. “It is my desire that this record touches the lives of those who listen to it, and through the music, lives are transformed forever.”

Artist: Rusty Bova Song: All Of Him CD: Raising The Standards To Praise Genre: jazz Label:Gospel That Swings Homepage
Rusty Bova’s love for music was highly influenced by his parent’s enjoyment of big band music. But when his parents introduced the recordings of the legendary Benny Goodman, his life would be impacted in a major way.
During the Fifth grade, Rusty met with the local band instructor for the new season band round up. The band instructor told Rusty that he would make a great trombone player. Astounded, Rusty said, “No! I want to play the clarinet like Benny Goodman!” From that point forward and no turning back, his Dad purchased a wooden clarinet.
In addition to regular clarinet lessons, His Mom would play the old 78-phonograph recording of Benny Goodman’s “My Blue Heaven”. She would sing every note of the song so Rusty could find the notes and play them. After grueling attempts and many honks and squeaks “My Blue Heaven” became Rusty’s first big band song. Later his parents introduced another clarinet great, Pete Fountain and Sax legend, Boots Randolph. By this time, Rusty started to learn the meaning, “It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing.”
Rusty pursued an early professional career in Musical Instrument Repair. This pursuit became the beginning of over three decades as a Music Store and Music Academy Educator and Business Owner. (Visit www.ChooChooMusic.com )
Prior to graduating from the State University College of Fredonia, NY as a Music Education Major, Rusty was a member of the Fredonia Clarinet Ensemble, the Fredonia Jazz Ensemble and the Theatrical Orchestra. Rusty was recognized as a fine musician and a sought after repairman even to assist the college violin repair department.
Rusty has performed with the legendary Earl “Fatha” Hines, Billy Eckstien, Bill Tolle and Larnelle Harris and many others too. He performed the Weber Clarinet Concerto in New Orleans and toured the Country of Spain. Guest Conductor and Artist for Chautauqua Institution and Alfred State University. Served as Music Educator for Jamestown Community College and Entrepreneur. Rusty continues to perform many Jazz Evangelistic Concerts, Christian Festivals, Christian Radio and Television. “Jazz is so unique says Rusty, that it gives way to a gentle seamless introduction and entertaining experience to introduce the gospel.”
In 1985, Rusty had the amazing encounter with God’s only Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. When Jesus changed his life, he was very much called to the Lord’s Ministry and a unique one indeed. Rusty is founder of “Gospel That Swings”. With new meaning on life, Rusty began to arrange, record and perform classic hymns, jazz standards and swing arrangements in the 1940’s Big Band style including original works. All available on CD as well as on the internet.
Rusty is married to his beautiful wife Suzanne, together with 2 beautiful children, Jennifer and Michael. Now that’s “Gospel That Swings”!

Biography
"Ryan Farish is something of an instrumental music superstar." - Christianity Today
From his first music lessons at the age of four, to his studying music performance at Old Dominion University and music business at UCLA, to his recent releases - Everlasting, Selected Works & Elevation - composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Farish has clearly been making a musical splash.
Ryan Farish first launched his artist career, back in 2000 on the former mp3.com. Ryan almost instantly became one of the most popular and downloaded artists in the history of the mp3.com era. Having received over 1.8 million downloads from his website on mp3.com, Ryan Farish (at age 28) ranked as one of the most popular artists of all time on the legendary mp3.com. Many of his tracks held the coveted #1 spot for months at a time, over 38 different times reaching #1 for their genre, and his cds sold to almost every corner of the earth.
Ryan Farish\'s music has been featured on The Weather Channel's "Local on the 8's", which led to TWC commissioning an original score/theme for their primetime TV show "Storm Stories". Ryan has also been honored to have his music featured as part of the "Freedom Towers" documentary.
Beautiful, Ryan's national debut album (EMI), reached #10 on Billboard's Top New Age Chart, was ranked #1 on Music Choice's Soundscapes, and garnered widespread critical acclaim. Reviewer/columnist/author Britt Gillette writes "Unlike many first albums, Beautiful should be more aptly labeled a "greatest hits" release because every track from one to fourteen is a masterpiece of sound and production. If you enjoy Vangelis, Yanni, Enya, or the Electronic/New Age genres in general, you will be floored by Ryan Farish's Beautiful, for Beautiful is truly perfect..."
Ryan's sophmore effort "From The Sky" hit #3 on Billboard's Top New Age Chart just five weeks after its release, was chosen as the discovery download of the week on Apple's iTunes, and subsequently became the second most downloaded Jazz album on iTunes for two consecutive weeks.
As an artist/composer/producer, Ryan has seen his music licensed to countless companies and production houses across the globe, including IBM, SONY, Columbia Tri-Star Pictures, COX Communications, IQ Television Group, Lifetime Network, Red Cross, Freedom Stone (Innovative Stone), and The Weather Channel. Ryan's music has touched the lives of thousands and entered the homes of millions.
Ryan's third national release recently hit stores everywhere on August 8, 2006, and is titled 'Everlasting". "Everlasting" has been featured on the listening wall display and end caps of over 400 Barnes and Noble stores (Sept 2006) ,as well as listening stations in select Tower Records stores, such as the infamous flagship Tower store, Sunset Strip, CA.
Ryan cites Moby, Robert Miles and BT as inspirations for Everlasting. But like all talented artists, Ryan has his own instantly identifiable musical sensibility. It's a sound millions of listeners love.
And now ... ELEVATION ...

HEIRCHEX PRESIDENT'S COMMENT!
BEN OKAFOR is a man of God ... created to share his evocative voice not to only ENTERTAIN ... but to EDUCATE and INSPIRE people all over the world.
In the past 25 years, Ben has raised social consciousness through his music by sharing his own history and testimony as a child soldier. His special focus is directed towards the powerful use of the arts to communicate and educate. His global reputation encapsulates Ben's ability to challenge and empower people to use their intellect, in conjunction with their artistic skills in order to better express their opinions on global issues peacefully and effectively.
I am very blessed to be able to offer to you the genius that I know as Ben Okafor! I feel very much like the disciples must have felt when they went out with the Good News ... bringing an alternative way of life to people that so desperately needed a new source of refreshment!
Ben is an internationally-acclaimed progressive, African Reggae/World-beat artist, yet ... I have made a decision to label all of Ben's music ... "alternative" because in my heart ... his message, his heart, his musical genius is an alternative to everything else! There is a profound simplicity and immeasureable depth to his lyrics that must be savored ... and I am blessed to share the Good News of Ben Okafor with you ...
