EightDaysLater is a Nashville based, four piece rock group. Its audio signal, based on raw edge and energy, draws on many elements to characterize its sound and form. Straight ahead rock, urban symphonic flair, and flashes of punk-ish passion, fuel the gospel of pop and soul to a heady height of adventurous sonic and spiritual pondering. Drawing nods from such musical influences as U2, Sting, and Incubus, EightDaysLater casts itself into the proverbial stewing pot, to form a new flavor that excites and intrigues the listener and concert comer alike. Their Christian faith challenges their views and forms much of the basis for their material, assessing social and political climates; as well as fodder for their own introspective journey. Their music and lyrics send out a call - a call for the voice to be louder, the soul to reach higher, truth to be sought, and love proclaimed.

A life filled with excitement.
A future filled with hope.

End of story? Hardly...
It's just the beginning.
At age 29, Renée Bondi was engaged to be married and had a beautiful singing voice, a thriving career as a music teacher, and a loving family. Renée lost not only all use of her hands and legs, but also her singing voice -- she could barely speak above a whisper. Unwilling to accept that her life was over, Renée searched her heart and sought the Lord for direction. Although there were many dark days, Renée continued to persevere.
Against all odds and all physicians prognosis, Renée's voice was miraculously restored with a crystal clear, angelic sound. Renée harnessed her talents to inspire and give hope to others.
An incredibly gifted Christian singer before her accident, Renée has augmented her gifts to include a dynamic speaking ability that grabs her audiences. Whether performing a powerful concert or sharing her profound and victorious story that includes paralysis and a life confined to a wheelchair, those who hear Renée are uplifted and mesmerized by her angelic voice, music and messages. Most importantly, all who hear Renée are encouraged to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Artist: Chelsie Boyd Song: What Child Is This? CD: The Gift of Christmas Genre: christmas Label:Creative Soul Records Homepage
Being a teenager and student, 15-year-old Chelsie Boyd has a large audience not just in concert, but every day as she lives as a person in school, church, and life. "Everyday is an experience for me. Just walking down the hallways of my school and seeing all of these teenagers that are involved with the wrong things makes me want to get out there and do whatever I can to spread the Word of God. Even if I only change one person, it's all worth it to me." Chelsie's parents first noticed her singing ability when she was around three-years old. They thought it was unusual for a three-year old to be able to match the notes and clap on the beat while singing along with the radio. After a stunning performance as a nine-year-old in a local musical, Chelsie caught the attention of a traveling professional musician, who told Chelsie's folks that she was something special. They later hooked up with Jason Hoard, a producer who was also a member of a signed Christian band, According to John. Hoard heard the potential and they released a debut CD, which sold very well. After beginning a second project, Enter In, Chelsie caught the attention of producer Eric Copeland of Creative Soul Records in Nashville, TN, who felt Chelsie and her songs deserved a national audience.

Artist: Mindy Smith Song: Silver Bells CD: My Holiday Genre: christmas Label:Vanguard Records Homepage
Mindy Smith has fond memories of the holiday season from growing up on Long Island.
Her dad taking the family into New York City to go window shopping and meet Santa Claus at Macy’s. Her mom making fresh cinnamon rolls from scratch. Singing along with a favorite album by John Denver and the Muppets. And the endless hours waiting until Christmas morning when the kids could jump on their parents’ bed and start the festivities.
“I don’t really remember a lot of the gifts that I got,” Smith says. “What I remember is the family experience, and how much fun we had. I remember at the end of the day, just being worn out from all the excitement and anticipation.”
It’s this sense of nostalgia, simple joy and togetherness that Smith brings to her first Christmas album, My Holiday. A collection of eleven gentle, acoustic-driven originals and standards, it’s infused with warmth that mixes classic Currier and Ives charm with a youthful glow and twinkle.
“With this record, I’m not trying to put out a message of any kind, other than Christmas is fun and to appreciate the things that you have,” the singer-songwriter says. “I think Christmas is about expressing gratitude to people and saying, ‘I’m thankful that you’re in my life.’
“As for the sound of the record, I just wanted to keep true to what I do musically, and incorporate some old jazz standards, because I really enjoy singing that style of music. I think the songs all fell together naturally. I like it, because it’s not the usual Christmas sound.”
As with her previous highly acclaimed albums – One Moment More (2004) and Long Island Shores (2006) – what immediately lifts My Holiday above the usual is Smith’s voice. Delicate and clear as blown glass, and tinged with a kind of blue yearning, it’s the kind of voice that communicates directly to the heart. And then there’s the songwriting. Working by herself and with notable country artists Chely Wright and Thad Cockrell - on winsome songs such as “My Holiday,” “Follow The Shepherd Home” and the lump-in-the-throat “Santa Will Find You” - Smith delivers the same sense of purpose and craft that once moved Dolly Parton to say, “Mindy will leave her mark as one of our greatest writers and singers ever.”
“When you sit down to write a Christmas song,” Smith says, “you have to think about how you feel at Christmas, and what it is about the holiday season that moves you. It’s a different thought process than just writing a song about life in general.
“I think there are certain note selections and chord progressions that can make a new Christmas song familiar. I think that happened with the songwriting process on this album, in that there were a lot of familiar musical choices. It wasn’t intentional. It’s just where I naturally went to with these notes and words. Then bringing something a little new to the table. I think all of those elements come together in a Christmas song.”
She also brings her own open-eyed take to a handful of seasonal standards, like “Silver Bells,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” and “The Christmas Song” with an understated charm that makes them glisten anew.
“I’ve never sung any of the standards before,” Smith confesses. “I didn’t want to stray too far from the style of music that they are. I think the feel for those kinds of songs needs to be spontaneous, in order to interpret them in a new way. So we just got in there and had a good time and let the songs breathe.”
That really gets at the heart of what My Holiday is about. A fresh take on the feelings of the Christmas season. Tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future, wrapped in a sense of peace and goodwill, and wreathed with smiles.
Recorded in Nashville and co-produced by Smith with Steve Buckingham, My Holiday features drummer Eddie Bayers, bassist Michael Rhodes and guitarist Kenny Vaughan as well as Smith’s longtime musical associate, Lex Price, on mandola. There are also special vocal cameos by Chely Wright, Thad Cockrell and on the hushed and beautiful “Away In the Manger,” Alison Krauss (“That was amazing for me - she’s one of my heroes,” Smith gushes).
“I hope people find it fun to listen to,” Smith reflects. “It sure was fun to make. I think rather than a Christmas record, it’s more of a holiday record, and it can reach anybody who celebrates the holidays. It embraces the season.”

Artist: Greg X. Volz Song: O' Holy Night CD: O' Holy Night Genre: christmas Label:Independent Homepage
Greg X. Volz (the 'X' is for Xavier) is best known as the lead vocalist for the legendary rock band Petra during their golden years (1977-1986). An incredible rock singer with a 4-octave range, Greg Volz was offered the role of lead vocalist for REO Speedwagon in the 70s, but decided instead to join Petra.
He spent most of the following decade using his vocal talents to give Petra their signature, arena-rock sound, performing an average of 160 concerts per year. Petra deserves credit for demonstrating the viability of rock 'n' roll as a medium for Christian expression. They were among the first faith-based rock outfits to tour with extensive light shows and special effects.
For many years, they were Christian music's best-selling band (over 6 million units sold); they were the only Christian act invited to play at the historic Farm Aid Festival; they were the subject of multiple 'greatest hits' compilations, as well as a tribute CD that featured Petra cover tunes by modern rock acts like Jars of Clay and Sixpence None the Richer; and they were the first Christian band to be enshrined in the Hard Rock Café.
As a member of Petra, Greg X. Volz was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in the year 2000.
