Truth be told, theres probably no cooler job on the planet than being a rock star.

In addition to the screaming fans, theres the mandatory travel that ensures you wont be stuck in your hometown for too long, and long nights spent holed up in a studio, plotting your next round of creative lyrics and chord changes.

After all, deep down within the soul of everyone is a desire for acceptance by the masses, and playing songs that people love virtually guarantees it.

But what happens when the music is forced to take a backseat, and despair and disillusionment are frequently the order of the day? Well, thats something Florida-based band 39 Stripes understands all too well.

While trying to survive as an independent band amidst an economic recession, 39 Stripes faced a slew of even more significant hardships including loved ones lost, betrayal by business associates, and the lingering question of where God was in the midst of it all.

While some groups would understandably cave in and call it quits during such a dark season, the guys in 39 Stripes never questioned their purpose. If anything, the doom and gloom only reinforced their mission and jumpstarted the songwriting process. It wasnt about being rock stars (it never was), but rather simply about being faithful in what God had called them to do.

Im not going to lie, it wasnt always easy, and we werent exempt from those feelings of utter discouragement, says Steve Henderlong, the bands lead guitarist, but I know that God gave our band a job to do a long time ago. And thats what its always come down to. Sure, I absolutely love what I do. But no matter what was happening, we could always go to bed knowing we were doing what we were supposed to. Its about putting our faith and trust in God, not ourselves, and stepping out of the way.

For Steve and his band-mates Mike Wilson (lead vocals), Josh Daugherty (drums, vocals), and Ray Schurr (bass guitar), the two years of blood, sweat and tears leading up to the release of Beyond Broken only serves as a testament to what really mattersand what doesnt.

Really, when you think about it, faith doesnt really matter if you dont trust God when the hard times come, Mike shares. And everything we went through, every heartache, disappointment and loss couldnt help but bring us closer to Him. Ultimately, we didnt really have a choice but to trust, and thats a message that everybody needs to cling to.

And not surprisingly, that theme of relying on God in lifes joys and heartaches pervades Beyond Broken. Saving Me A Place pays tribute to a family member who has passed away, while Mustard Seed reminds listeners what a kernel of faith is truly worth, and My Desire serves as an anthem of praise. Even the projects standout title track, already a favorite on YouTube thanks to its memorable accompanying video, is an always-relevant treatise on Gods presenceand inevitable interventionwhen life is handing out those proverbial lemons.

Anchored by hope and fueled with inventive guitar licks, catchy choruses, and dynamic production, Beyond Broken is an authentic snapshot of faith in the trenchesone 39 Stripes hopes will stick with fans when they endure their own challenges.

Part of the human condition is, unfortunately, struggling with something, Steve shares. And the last thing wed want is to squander an opportunity to share how God helped us through things. MIKESCHAIR has experienced a great deal since the release of their debut album. Not only have they toured extensively, they’ve also maintained their heart for missions to work and be involved with the international relief agencies such as Food for the Hungry and Buckner International; organizations that help at risk orphans. The band members have traveled abroad to Haiti with Food for the Hungry and to South & Central America with Buckner International “The Lord has opened some really cool doors for us personally to continue to serve further. One particular effort that we have had the privilege of being part of has been a radio partnered shoe-drive where we helped collect thousands of pairs of shoes,” says Grayson. “We were able to personally take them over to orphanages in Peru, Guatemala and Honduras. We went to wash feet and put brand new shoes on those kids. That is the story of A Beautiful Life. While there, we saw situations that seem hopeless. There are desperate, poor children without families who were abandoned, yet we saw these kids smiling and we heard them sing about Jesus. That’s the picture of A Beautiful Life that we wanted to capture.”

The members of MIKESCHAIR have matured from college-graduates-turned-recording artists to young men with a firm understanding of their calling and renewed passion for changing lives through music. “We feel very strongly that the music we’re writing is important and people need to hear it,” says Grayson. “I can’t tell you how many touching stories we’ve heard over the last few years. One I often remember was a man in Missouri who came up to me after a show and said, ‘I want to thank you. My kids have a father today because your song came on the radio at the right time.’ He was actually contemplating suicide and because of ‘Let The Water Rise’ the Lord just spoke to him so clearly in that moment. That’s why we do what we do.”

“We wanted this record to take a very hopeful approach,” says Grayson. “We’re not denying the tragic and devastating things that are happening in the world around us because there is so much that is hard and difficult, but we decided to call the record A Beautiful Life because our whole objective is to say that even in our brokenness, even in our mess, God is weaving together a beautiful life whether we can see it or not. We might not see the whole picture right now, we might just get to see certain colors, but God is seeing the whole thing. We wanted to encourage people, to acknowledge where they are, and say ‘we know this is hard, but there is more.”

Former Korn guitarist Brian Head Welch marks a new beginning with the announcement that his band will now go by the name Love & Death. I put this band together in 2009 states Welch. Since then, we've experienced some very intense highs and lows. Michael Valentine, Dan Johnson, J.R. Bareis and myself have toured around the world playing a lot of killer shows, but we've also had some heart shattering difficulties along the way as well. To us, the name "Love and Death" symbolizes everything we've been through as a band over the last few years. We love this band so much and we'll go through hell to connect with our fans. We've proven that to ourselves over and over again.

With Love & Death, the music now lives under its own banner. Many people have confused my speaking dates and our band dates because they were both being booked as Brian Head Welch says Welch. I have wanted to go to a band name for branding my music for a few years. It has been an ongoing discussion with my management, but we were just starting to tour and I was in the middle of supporting my third book and it seemed like a bad time to switch brands. Now with the new music coming out, its time to really separate the things I do. I want the music to be about music. I will still be doing public speaking under Brian Head Welch. I am happy that all the confusion will be over.

Love & Death formed when Welch decided to have band try outs on YouTube in 2009. I picked the guys and then had a jam session in Phoenix says Welch. Over the last couple of years, there have been a few line up changes as we went through normal growing pains. The current band has been together and touring for a while now and they are a big part of the new music and the future of this new brand.

The bands latest single Paralyzed is already #5 on the BDS rock chart (the single was released under the name Brian Head Welch). Paralyzed was produced by Jason Rauch (Red, Breaking Benjamin) and mixed by Lee Bridges (Third Day, Newsboys). Paralyzed was one of the first songs co-written with Producer Jason Rauch states Welch. He came to me with the idea and we both dove into it until it was all there. Jason is really helping me get back to crushing riffs. My first solo CD was an experimental album so the riffs were definitely lacking. Today\'s a new day and I\'m excited about the future. Paralyzed is only a taste of what\'s to come.

Bio:
Fivestar Prophet is heavy hitting band from Helsinki, Finland. It's been a long journey to come to the beginning for these guys. Olli the leadsinger of the band had the vision of a rock band singing their hearts out to their Creator. That's why there has been a band called L-60° carrying that mission since 2001. FsP is actually the same line up (plus added guitarist).

In 2008 L-60° seemed tired and frustrated. Many disapointments and ever changing course of music business wore the band out. At the same time there was a growing need within the guys to update the message to be more Christ centered. The music also needed a facelift, but still the band wanted to continue on the old path.

It wasn\'t until 26th of October 2009, before Olli finally felt the time is up. There needs to be a fullstop! On that night he wrote a long email to his bandmates and told about this idea and vision he had, to start up a new band from a "clean table". Everything needed to be renewed, especially the focus. And without a doubt all the members agreed and felt enthusiastic towards this new project, which has soon become their love and passion... Fivestar Prophet.

This band is all about the Kingdom! Fivestar Prophet wants to be a band of servants and not to be served and idolized. There's not enough music out there that has a positive and uplifting message. Fivestar wants to make a change. They want to see lifes changed and people getting healed by the power of God.

As far as the music goes it's kinda of hard to put a tag on it. It seems like there\'s tons of heavy riffs, great big pop-flavored choruses, some ambient and even techno filled keyboards and sounds.... plus some raw and swetty in your face rock energy. The debut album is coming out in the Fall 2010. You can also catch the band live for example in Turku, Finland. Playing on the main stage of one of the biggest Christian music festivals there is in Europe. Stay tuned. God bless you all.

From aspiring hockey player to worship leader, from Ottawa, Ontario to the Music City, Dana Jorgensen has been on an incredible journey that God has perfectly orchestrated to bring him to this moment, and has made his third album Everything to Beautiful – in stores August 16, 2011 - to reality.

Dana grew up, like many Canadian young men, dreaming of a professional hockey career. Playing on backyard rinks, frozen ponds and as many teams as he could fit in his schedule, Dana excelled at the sport until he suffered the last of 8 dangerous concussions. Paired with breaking several major bones, Dana was forced to hang up his skates, and his dreams of the NHL.

In a strange turn of fate, Dana was asked if he could sing, and quickly found himself performing for a year at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. After finishing this contract, Dana moved to Vancouver, BC to front a band and tour throughout the west coast.

Realizing the life of a rock star wasn’t for him, Dana took a job as a youth leader and worship leader at North Shore Alliance Church that began a 3 year journey of soul-searching, spiritual growth, and honing his skills as a musician and songwriter. Then in the January of 2005, a significant door opened. In one day, not only was Dana able to obtain dual citizenship between Canada and the US, but three offers were presented to move to Nashville and move forward on his music career.

And Dana has never looked back. He has moved his family to the hills of Tennessee where he has not only continued his other passions of fishing and hunting, Dana worked as a songwriter, backup musician and began his own solo career.

On this, Dana’s first album with his new label Mosaic Artistry Group, Everything to Beautiful expresses a maturity and honesty that can only come from Dana’s own journey. Joined by producer Ryan Sutton, Dana was able to enlist a friend, Monroe Jones to produce background vocals, as well as band mates Ryan Mitchell on drums and Craig McClellan on electric guitars and programming.

Everything to Beautiful is an honest, open journey into the questions and challenges involved in truly trusting God. But truly, when we allow God to do his work, we realized that no matter where we’ve come from, no matter where we are, no matter how dark the path may seem, God truly turns Everything to Beautiful.

Explanation/Meaning:
Doubt is a story written in third person, about a college aged student who grew up in the church and attending youth group regularly. We meet him in a desolate parking lot this evening at the beginning of the song, he's bombarded with regret about the life he's come to lead as a college student as if it had happened without his knowledge. The regret leads him to the admission of guilt feeling shame and remorse but not knowing what to do about it. The Holy Spirit then greets him as you can see when the student says, "you're the closest thing to mercy that I\'ve ever seen." Essentially what follows is a spiritual battle and ends with reconciliation with a resounding, "Come Emmanuel.
