Wayne is known best for his raw soulful voice and innovative compositions, and has served as a guest singer/songwriter, worshipper, or actor on numerous Christian recordings and a wide variety of stage productions and multi-media broadcasts. Wayne started his performing arts career as a singer-songwriter and actor in Charleston, South Carolina and studied stage performance with the New American Stage Company in Manhattan. At the first major crossroad of his secular life he began studying the Gospel of Christ with such single-minded purpose that his ensuing journey from Christian critic to active Gospel apologist changed every facet of his life.
He eventually left behind an apartment in the upper East Side of Manhattan, a secular recording project, and a budding career on Broadway and shifted his primary purpose to raising his daughter as a single dad and began investing all of his artistic efforts to a broad range of ministry projects including soup to nuts production of original passion musicals and other shorts for various Southeastern churches. Once he entered the born-again life in Christ, he vowed to never again serve an artistic project that was void of a redeeming biblical message, so despite being a member of the Screen Actors Guild of high regard with principal roles in a dozen films, Wayne has placed film acting on the back burner and fully trusts his film experience and dramatic skills are intended for higher purposes yet to be revealed.
Wayne also serves as a impassioned Gospel teacher and motivational story teller for several grass roots ministries including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes -- a ministry his teenage daughter Amber serves as well. As a text writer, Wayne is currently working on an original manuscript concerning the most overlooked words and works of Jesus as recorded in the four Gospels of the bible. Though the Furman Scholar and College of Charleston honor graduate has continued his education with two decades of advanced biblical, scientific, and historical research (including significant post-graduate course work in Christian theology), his first book will be a layman’s guide of sorts, written from the perspective of a man called out of the world, broken, born again, and restored through the hidden messages and deepest truths of Christ. These themes drive the songs in Gospel Project. The album is in essence the musical preamble to Wayne's manuscript, as his transformative and evocative lyrics are entirely founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the crucified/born again life. In telling Wayne's biography, nothing better reveals his heart and obedience to the high calling of Christ than the fruit of his only child, Amber. As a single dad Wayne has -- by the grace of God -- raised up a teenage girl in America to the born again life in Christ despite a tragically tumultuous, single-parent childhood and 12 years of public school exposure. Amber, now 18, is already a Gospel teacher and repentant witness for her generation, as the Lord has blessed her greatly for her obedience to the Word.
When not writing or teaching or acting or singing the Gospel, Wayne lives it in the field as an award-wining media producer, brand strategist, and business writer at the head of Caparas Media, a global network of free-lance digital artists and media professionals, but Wayne is charting a course to full-time ministry of God’s design.
