Where should I put the downloaded files?
Where is the best place to store the newly downloaded file?
Below are a few facts on how Windows and Macs work with file storage on the local hard drive:

Windows:

  • "Desktop" is a special location and should NOT be where you store lots of files.
  • My Documents is the optimum place to store these files, specifically in the "Music" folder:
    • Browse to the Music folder
    • Click on FILE, NEW, FOLDER
    • Name the folder "HeirChex Digital Servicing"

Macintosh:

  • Your "Desktop" is a special location and should NOT be where you store lots of files.
  • /USERS/<your username>/MUSIC is the optimum place to store these files:
    • Browse to the Music folder
    • Create a new folder "HeirChex Digital Servicing"
